The Books of Belonging initiative began in 2019 and books under this umbrella have been introduced already to one Charlotte preschool. Co-Chairs, Annie Totten and Chandler McIntyre, of the TES Diversity and Belonging Affinity Group: Parents of Students with Physical Differences, introduced the Books of Belonging concept to TES in 2019. Annie and Chandler are ecstatic to bring Books of Belonging to all students at TES to help embrace differences, and along with the Diversity + Belonging Committee at TES, encourage diversity and belonging school-wide. Annie is a proud parent of a child with cerebral palsy and Chandler is the proud mom of her daughter, Bliss, who is profoundly deaf.
